The Texas Division of Adult and Community Education provides out-of-school youth and adults with opportunities to acquire basic academic skills, life survival skills and a secondary school equivalency credential necessary for employment or post-secondary education.

The Texas Center for Adult Literacy and Learning helps reduce the incidence of adult illiteracy in Texas.  The Center works through a variety of externally-funded projects including the Adult Literacy Clearinghouse, the Directory of Adult Literacy Providers and various other Workplace Literacy projects.

The Texas Association of Business works to improve the state's public education system by helping develop a workforce capable of competing in an increasingly complex and technologically advanced workplace.  The Association holds informative workshops and seminars for small and large employers.
