Adult Basic Education (ABE) of the New Mexico State Department of Education supports and encourages activities that assist adults in securing literacy and in gaining knowledge and skills necessary for employment and self-sufficiency.  Specific services include: writing, math, practical living skills, study skills, career advisement, and one-to-one tutoring.

The New Mexico Workforce Investment Act (WIA) "One-Stop, Seamless Entry" Partners provide benefits and services to New Mexico organizations and individuals.  A brief synopsis of the services that each provides is presented.

Resource Materials and Providers

The New Mexico Coalition for Literacy provides a full range of instructional and program management resources to the literacy and adult education communities.  It also offers a wide range of training and technical assistance services to literacy projects throughout the state.

The Career (Vocational) Technical, and Adult Services of New Mexico's Department of Education is responsible for occupational and adult education in New Mexico, and is state and federally-funded.

InSight Educational Services specializes in reasonably priced evaluations of employee basic skills that can be easily accessed and are non-threatening.  Evaluations give the employer and employee usable information regarding reading and writing levels, mathematics capabilities and learning styles.
