The Employment Training Division of the Mississippi Development Authority receives federal funds from the U.S. Department of Labor to administer the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) in Mississippi.  The Division works to meet both the needs of state businesses and of job seekers and those who want to further their careers.

The Bureau of Vocational Community Development of Mississippi's Office of Technical and Vocational Education serves as a liaison with various statewide educational, industrial, and economic development groups.  The Bureau also develops and implements Work-Based Learning programs in all community/junior colleges.
