The Department for Training and ReEmployment administers local programs, provides technical assistance, training, monitoring, and participant follow-up services, maintains performance standards and the coordinates rapid response activities.

The Department for Adult Education (DAEL), Division of Workforce Investment’s SKILL Branch employs regional Training & Development Coordinators (T&D’s) to work with businesses throughout the state and provide workplace essential skills upgrade training at the worksite.

Resource Materials and Providers

The Kentucky Department for Adult Education and Literacy
provides customized essential skills training to meet the need of Kentucky's employers.  Customized training is delivered at a time and location most convenient for employees and employers.

The Commonwealth of Kentucky's Cabinet for Workforce Development connects Kentucky to employment, workforce information, education and training.  Employer services include worker recruitment, screening and referral; customized workplace training for basic skills; labor market information for business planning and economic development; disability awareness training; and funding for on-the-job training in eligible situations.

The GED test measures the educational achievement of adults who are not high school graduates and compares their competency with that of high school graduates.  You can find test center locations, advice, or obtain a copy of your GED test from the Kentucky Department for Adult Education and Literacy.

The Kentucky Virtual University (KYVU), the state's official virtual campus, offers one-stop access to affordable college credit courses and professional development programs offered online from colleges, universities and other institutions.

One-Stop Career Centers provide services to eligible adults and dislocated workers, such as access to information on job vacancies, local training providers, Initial skills assessment, career counseling, occupational skills training, skill upgrading and retraining, Adult Education and literacy activities.

The Kentucky Higher Education Assistance Authority provides outreach education services and conducts training, seminars, and workshops.  It also provides grants, loans and offers information about higher education opportunities and student financial aid.
