Resource Materials and Providers

Information on General Education Development (GED) testing, including test centers and requesting transcripts, is provided by the Adult Education and Family Literacy Division of the Arizona Department of Education.

The Workforce Development Unit of the Arizona Department of Education assists workforce participants access quality programs which integrate academic, occupational training and support services. Employment preparation opportunities are also provided.

Arizona HEAT (Helping Everyone Access Training) is Arizona’s Statewide Eligible Training Provider web site.  It includes information on One-Stop Centers, local Workforce Investment Boards and lists of Eligible Training Providers, including post-secondary educational institutions, vocational education institutions, and community-based organizations who provide occupational training and apprenticeship programs.

The Arizona Job Training Program provides reimbursement grants for short-term, customized job training to businesses creating net new jobs in Arizona. The program is designed to be flexible to meet the needs of existing and relocating businesses, and businesses undergoing economic conversion.

The Arizona Department of Economic Security provides labor market information, including economic analysis of industry employment forecasts and published data on industry updates and economic trends.

The Arizona Chamber of Commerce promotes a business climate that enhances economic vitality and improves the quality of life for all Arizonans.  It works to create a unified job training system for new and incumbent workers that meets the needs of the business community.

Learning Support

The Arizona Adult Education Standards Project is a proactive effort by Arizona’s Adult Education Community to ensure consistency in program content and high levels of achievement for all adult learners.  Content, performance, assessment and reporting standards are outlined for ESL, Math, Reading and Writing for adult learning programs.

The Arizona Association for Lifelong Learning helps develop adult education as a valued profession.  It supports professional development through workshops, seminars and special interest groups, and is an advocate for educational programs for special populations not served by traditional education.
