Unreceptive Employees

If your employees need to improve their workplace basic skills, but are not very receptive, you can take action by:

• involving employees in planning and designing your organization's WEP

• communicating to employees, in a non-threatening and non-judgmental way, your organization's WEP and how it will benefit them

• recognizing, rewarding and providing incentives for employee participation and success with the WEP

• linking employee WEP participation with their performance review

• providing work time to employees for WEPs

• linking workplace basic skills to increased responsibility and pay

• involving your union representative in planning and delivering programs
