way to access expertise and resources that you may not have on
your own.
National
The 21st Century
Community Learning Centers help students meet State and
local student academic achievement standards in core subjects,
such as reading and mathematics. In addition, they offer
literacy and related learning opportunities to students'
families.

A report from the Task
Force on Workforce Development, Learning Partnerships:
Strengthening American Jobs in the Global Economy, proposes
"bottom-up partnerships" of government, educators,
labor leaders, and employers to analyze job opportunities and
workforce needs, and to develop effective training. The study
offers recommendations on improving workforce preparation and
retraining, including adjusting provisions in the Workforce
Investment Act.

A new report from The Council for
Advancement of Adult Literacy, Forging New
Partnerships: Adult and Developmental Education in
Community Colleges, looks at the relationship
between developmental and adult education in community
college settings.

major finding of the report is that adult education
service in the nation can be substantially improved

Incarcerated Adults: Insights from the Ready4Work Reentry
