The Adult Education and Literacy section of the North Dakota Department of Public Instruction oversees the North Dakota Adult Education Resource Center, North Dakota Adult Learning Centers, the State Plan for Adult Education and Literacy, as well as GED testing information.

The North Dakota Adult Education Resource Center provides training for adult education staff and volunteer personnel.  Emphasis is to train full-time professional adult educators and instructors of adults with limited English proficiency and adults with learning disabilities.

The GED program gives adults an opportunity to demonstrate educational growth since withdrawing from school, and to benefit accordingly.  Passing the GED test allows you to receive the North Dakota GED High School Diploma from the Department of Public Instruction.

North Dakota Tech Prep of the Board for Vocational-Technical Education prepares students for a highly skilled technical occupation that allows either direct entry into the workplace as a qualified technician or continuation with further education.
