Maine's Department of Education believes education is a lifelong process, and provides for and encourages the growth of educational opportunities for all adults.  Adult High School completion, tests of General Educational Development (GED), adult vocational education and professional development services are available.

Resource Materials and Providers

The Center for Adult Learning and Literacy (CALL) is the state literacy resource center and staff development service provider for the Maine Adult Education system.  CALL provides staff development activities, distributes adult education resources to practitioners, and  provides statewide leadership for staff development.

The New England Literacy Resource Center (NELRC) strengthens adult literacy services in the area through sharing and collaborative special projects among State Literacy Resource Centers (SLRC), adult literacy practitioners and policy-makers in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont.

Maine State Chamber of Commerce members now have access to the HR Comply Survival Guide, an encyclopedic volume of Maine and federal employment law; electronic Turnkey Training for employment compliance training; and other essential small business services.
