The Iowa Literacy Resource Center provides a link to resource materials in Iowa and at a regional and national level for adult literacy practitioners and students. These resources are available in many formats; including print, audio, video and online.

Regional Workforce Investment Boards, in partnership with Iowa Workforce Development, identify and certify training providers whose performance qualifies them to receive Workforce Investment Act (WIA) funds to train Adults and Dislocated Workers.

The Bureau of Career and Technical Education of the Department of Education has identified content standards and competency benchmarks for several areas, including Business and Technology, Marketing, Agriculture, Consumer and Family Studies, Industrial Technology and Health Occupations.

Learning Support

The Bureau of Community Colleges of the Department of Education has published an Adult Basic Skills Certification Manual to provide practitioners with guidelines for providing Adult Literacy education.

The Department of Education provides a document on the Legal Aspects of Work-Place Learning for students. This is a handy reference of the many legal aspects of concern for the educator.

The Iowa Association for Lifelong Learning (IALL) is committed to professional development and support of a diverse membership which is, in turn, devoted to providing and promoting lifelong opportunities in Iowa. IALL provides connections with a diverse network of organizations and individuals.
