levels. The staff delivers state-of-the-art career/technical and

The Alabama Commission on Higher
Education seeks to promote reasonable access to quality
collegiate and university education for the citizens of
Alabama. It also administers various student aid programs.

Materials and Providers
The Alabama Adult Literacy Resource
Center maintains adult education learning materials such
a software, audio-tapes, videotapes, literature, and research
reports. Staff development activities and training for adult
educators are offered through statewide teleconferences.

The GED (General Education Development)
program is managed by the Career Technical/Adult and Community
Education Section of the Alabama Department of Education.
Individuals may prepare for the GED tests through "GED on
TV" by Alabama Public Television.

Alabama Industrial Development
Training (AIDT) provides a full range of customized technical
training programs that are free to the employers and to the
trainees. Management and supervisory training programs,
including Total Quality Management (TQM) and ISO 9000 are also
available. Mobile Training Units provide customized training
at employer sites.
