If your employees need to improve their workplace basic skills, but are not very receptive, you can take action by:
involving employees in planning and designing your organization's WEP
communicating to employees, in a non-threatening and non-judgmental way, your organization's WEP and how it will benefit them
recognizing, rewarding and providing incentives for employee participation and success with the WEP
linking employee WEP participation with their performance review
providing work time to employees for WEPs
linking workplace basic skills to increased responsibility and pay
involving your union representative in planning and delivering programs
